Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

1: How early should I check in?

If you are traveling with a vehicle and have already printed your tickets, it is recommended to arrive at the port at least 1 hour before departure. If you need to collect your tickets at the port and are traveling with a vehicle, aim to arrive at least 2 hours in advance. For passengers without vehicles, arriving at the gate 30 minutes before the ship's departure is sufficient. If you require special assistance or are traveling with a pet, you may need a bit more time to board.

2: What happens if my ferry is delayed or the trip is canceled?

In certain cases, due to adverse weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances, delays or cancellations may occur. In such situations, ferry companies are not obligated to offer additional compensation. However, if your departure is canceled or significantly delayed, you should be offered either an alternative trip or a full refund of your ticket cost.

3: How do I collect my tickets?

Depending on the ferry company, there are several options for ticket collection:

  • Electronic Ticket: Sent to your email or mobile device. If you choose this option, you must complete online check-in before your trip. Note that not all ferry companies offer electronic tickets, so confirm availability before booking. Some companies require a printed electronic ticket for boarding (this will be mentioned during check-in).
  • Pickup at the Port: You can collect your tickets from the departure port on the day of travel by visiting the main agent of your ferry company. Locations are listed on their website.
  • Courier Delivery: Your tickets can be sent directly to your door, depending on the departure date and ferry company.

4: What is the cost of courier ticket delivery?

The cost of ferry ticket delivery varies by destination. In major urban areas, the charge is €3.72. For other parts of Greece, additional fees start at €2.

5: What should I do if I lose something on the ferry?

If you lose an item during your trip or forget it after disembarking, you should contact the ferry company directly. Only the ship's crew can check if the item has been found.

6: What are the ticket prices for children?

All ferry companies offer discounted fares for infants and children. Typically, children up to 5 years old travel for free, but a ticket is still required for each passenger. For children aged 5 to 10 years, a 50% discount usually applies. Remember that age limits and prices may vary depending on the company.

7: What is web check-in?

Web check-in is a service provided by some ferry companies, allowing you to retrieve your ticket electronically, usually 48 hours before your trip. During booking, you can see which companies offer this option through a corresponding icon. After completing your booking, you will find a link for web check-in on the confirmation page and email. By clicking the link, you will be redirected to the ferry company's website, where you will need specific codes provided in your booking confirmation. Web check-in applies only to the ferry company in question and not to the entire booking if it includes multiple companies. You can then board using the boarding pass provided by the company.
